Susie Kaye Stringer was born August 23, 1939 and departed this life Sunday, January 10, 2021 reaching the age of 81 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Marvin and Alpha (Branscum) Hammond.

She is survived by: 5 sisters, Faye Silvers, Sue Smith, Shirley Simpson, Gloria (Ron) Mardis and Nancy (Jim) Brown; 1 brother, Marvin Lee Hammond; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Goldie B. Stringer; 2 sisters, Alma Marie Smith and Dovie Eleanor Gregory; and 2 brothers, James and Charles Paul Hammond.

She was a loving sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11 am at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance.  You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines.  No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.  Please feel free to sign the online guestbook or send a private condolence message through out website.
