'Tonie Mae Anderson Smith, age 92, passed away Thursday morning, January 24. 2019, at the Golden Years Nursing Home where she had been a resident for seven years.
Toni was born in the Concord community of Wayne County on October 23, 1926, to her parents, Oliver Perry and Darcus Worley Anderson.
She was united in marriage to J. Howard Smith on September 20, 1946. To this union, one child was born, a son, Dwight Howard. Howard and Dwight preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were he parents; seven brothers: Mervin, Fealie, Bolin, Floyd, Melvin, Milford and Deford; and three sisters: Etta Corder, Netta Corder and Versa Eudaly. Toni was the last surviving member of the Perry Anderson Family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nellie; her grandson: Buddy (Holly) of Bradenton, FL and a granddaughter, Sheri of Orland FL; four great grandchildren: Zac, Zoe, Zara and Zander; a sister-in-law, Imogene Smith Cooper and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In 1969 Tonie moved her membership to the First Baptist Church where she was an active member as long as her health permitted. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Toni is now at rest in her heavenly home.',
