'Troy Simpson passed away from this life on Monday, July 8th at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital afte being in very poor health for the last year or so. He was forty-two years of age. Troy was born on July 16, 1976 at Monticello. He was the youngest child of Irene and the late Paul Simpson. Try lived his first thirty-two years with his family at their farm on Patton Creek Road at Mt. Pisgah. He lived the last few years in a group home in Somerset. Troy was a Downs Syndrome child and attended the Wayne County School System.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Paul Simpson in May 2010 and nephew, Rueben Koger in April of 2002. He is survived by his mother, Irene who resides at the Golden Years Nursing Home as well as siblings: Steve Simpson, John Simpson, Paula Koger, Ronnie Simpson and Mark Simpson all of the Lake Cumberland Area.
Troy's siblings will always remember his love of music and ability to give high fives. They will miss him in the years and decades ahead. The family would like to thank everyone who gave Troy help and friendship during his time on this earth',
