'Velda Annie Coffey Pitman was born August 6, 1938 the daughter of the late Roscoe and Ruby lee Watson Coffey. She departed this life Thursday, June 6th at the home of the son after an extended illness reaching the age of 74 years.

On December 22, 1952 she united in marriage with Robert Pitman who passed away September 9, 1998. Surviving are four children: Hubert Pitman, Lula Anderson, Robert Allen Pitman and Lynn Foster.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, siblings: Glasgow Coffey, Doris Bell, Faye Dobbs, George, James, Jim and Jerry Matthews. Her sister Jewell Bell precedes her in death.

Mrs. Pitman work as a seamstress with Cumberland Apparel for many years. As a young lady she accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized into the Baptist Church. She attended the Big Springs Baptist Church as her health allowed.
