Vena Mae Corder of Monticello, Kentucky was born June 7 ^th ,1933 and departed this life Tuesday, February 14, 2023, reaching the age of 89 years. She was the daughter of the late Olie and Laura Decker Dobbs. In August of 1947, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Corder, who precedes her in death.

She is survived by three daughters; Mildred Corder, Marilyn Burnett, Wilma Slagle, three sons; Arvin Corder, Larry Corder, Gary Corder, two brothers; Dester Dobbs and Roger Dobbs, eight grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Lawrence Corder, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Barbara Slagle, one sister; Levina Bell, and one brother; Vesper Dobbs.

Vena had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Canada Creek Baptist Church and later attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16th from 11AM until 1PM in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 1PM.  Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
