'Vera Sue Dick Turpin was born in Wayne County on April 23rd, 1919 to the late Wilburn and Elva Baker Dick and passed away Monday morning, December 18th, 2017 at her home reaching an age of ninety-eight years.
On November 26th, 1947 she united in marriage to the late Howard Edwin Turpin, Sr. who passed away May 12th, 2004 and to this fifty-six year union three children survive; Linda Giles, Brenda and husband Ray Burnett and Howard Turpin, Jr and his wife Phyllis. Also surviving is her sister; Betty Jo Decker, her five grandchildren; Dara Shelton, Janice Davis, Linda Sue Burnett, Mark Giles and David Burnett along with her eight great-grandchildren; Addy and Harrison Shelton, Dylan Decker, Emma and Matthias Burnett and Logan, Conner and Kaleb Davis.
She is preceded in death by her sisters; Ina and Elsie Dick and her brothers; Ralph and Reed Dick.
Vera had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church.',
