Wanda Sue Wright was born March 9, 1946, and departed this life Friday, January 12, 2024, reaching the age of 77 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Oakley and Vela Marie (Brake) Upchurch.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Frank Wright, Jr.; one son, Rankin Malone (Gayla); three brothers, Roger Upchurch, Dale Upchurch, and Larry Upchurch; four sisters, Mary Davis, Shirley Hughes, Linda Upchurch, and Ann Gregory.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Dewey Paul Malone; and 2 brothers, Ralph Upchurch, and Bobby Gene Upchurch.

Wanda was a member of the Roger's Grove Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 11 AM – 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Mountainview Baptist Camp or the Gideons Memorial Bible Plan.
