Wilburn Boyce Godsey was born June 28, 1946 and departed this life Monday, August 31, 2020 reaching the age of 74 years. He was the son of the late James C. and Vina Mae Phillips Godsey.

He married Carolyn Allen Godsey on July 1, 1967 in Bedford, IN, and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Godsey; 2 sons, David Godsey and Windell (Lori) Godsey; 3 brothers, Denver (LeaEtta) Godsey, Winfred (Sheila) Godsey and Eddie Godsey; 3 sisters, Linda Adams, Susie (Phillip) New and Donna (Richard) Rose; 2 grandchildren Chasidy (Taylor) Fletcher and Casey Godsey; 3 great-grandchildren, Brayden Godsey, Jaxon Fletcher & Isaac Fletcher; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 1 brother, Windell F. Godsey;  1 sister, Cathy L. Godsey; and one brother-in-law, Bob Adams.

He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member at the Clay Hill Baptist Church.  Later he moved his membership to Zion Baptist Church of the Delta community where he became in ordained deacon on November 5, 2011.  He was a faithful member as long as health permitted.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3 2020 at 1 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
