Obituary

Howard Huffaker passed away on August 16, 2021, at the age of 84.  He was the son of the late Andrew and Marie Huffaker.  Howard was born on December 7, 1936 in Monticello, Ky. and grew up with eleven siblings.

He attended Number Two Elementary School and graduated from Wayne County High School.  After graduation, he enrolled in Cumberland College, Williamsburg, Ky, where he was especially interested in Music and Spanish. He also attended Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky where he was enrolled in R.O.T.C. Air Force.

He was employed by Baptist Sunday School Board, Nashville, Tennessee and worked in Hartford, Connecticut.

Howard's passion was music. He mastered the violin, banjo, harmonica, saw and guitar, but his preferred instrument, by far, was the piano.  He preferred gospel music and stated his favorite song was, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be", with "Jesus Loves Me" a close second.

Howard is survived by his siblings: Anita Waldrip and Frederick Huffaker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his siblings – Louise Caskey, Marguerite Day, Lena David, Jean Wallace, George, David, Raymond, Milton and Lewis Huffaker.

Visitation will be 10am – 2pm on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Hickey Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 2pm at Elk Spring Cemetery with David Phillips officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
