Obituary

Willis Ray Tucker, age 74, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.

He was born in the Denney's Gap Community of Monticello; the son of the late, Henry Cecil and Alta Hazel (Martin) Tucker.

On June 14, 1972, Ray married Nellie Kathryn Decker and was married for 30 years until her death in April of 2003.

He is survived by 3 stepchildren, 1 sister, Sheila Faye Tucker; special friend, Janice Kammer; 2 nieces, Regina (Eddie) Bell, and Angela (Marty) New; 1 great niece; 2 great nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

He was saved on Saturday, August 13, 1963, and was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church.

Ray was drafted during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Korea having been enlisted in the Army for 2 years and later was a member of the National Guard for 18 years having also served in Desert Storm.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Kathryn Tucker; 1 stepchild; and 1 sister, Rosalee Tucker.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5 pm until 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Clay Hill Cemetery.
