'Woodrow Wilson Roberts, age 97 was born May 14, 1917 the son of the late William Sam Roberts, also known as Dr. Bill and Rosa Lair Roberts. He is preceded in death by four brothers: Luther, Oscar, Dennis and Hansford Roberts and one sister, Opal Roberts Jones.

He married Dorothy Corder Roberts on July 6, 1938, who preceded him in death on July 21, 2001. To this union, five children were born: Willadean and her husband Wendell Turpin of Monticello, Larry Roberts of Monticello, Mary Snow and husband Bob Hoffman of California, Twila and her husband Jack Denney of Ohio and Danny and wife Donna Roberts of Monticello.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Deborah Shearer, Donna Upchurch, Chris, Sean, and Gehrig Roberts, Jill Singleton, Barry and Jason Denney and Valerie Roberts; eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great grandson. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the Concord Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband and wonderful father. He enjoyed working in his garden and selling his vegetables. He loved being outdoors.

He will be missed by family and friends.
