­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Zachary Thornton-Koontz was born on August 29, 1985, and departed this life Tuesday, June 11, 2024, reaching the age of 38 years. He was the Son of Randall Koontz and the late Sheila Thornton-Koontz

He is survived by his father, Randall Koontz; 1 brother, Jordan Koontz; 1 grandmother, Evalene Koontz; 1 uncle, Daryl Koontz; 2 aunts, Terry Thornton-Frye (Richard) and Diann Lee (Ricky); 2 nephews, Ethan and Max Koontz and 1 niece, Rylee Koontz. Along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by; Grandparents; Jim and Mary Thornton, his grandfather, David Koontz, and 1 Uncle David W. Koontz.

Zachary had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 11 AM– 2PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 2PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
